The Commute for Cash Challenged ended on October 31st. You can still win bi-weekly prizes for Logging your Commute and entering the free Draw on the upper right hand corner of your calendar page. From here forward, sign in by clicking the "log in" link on the top navigation bar or by clicking the "ride matcher" button on the homepage.

There are a lot of ways to win big in October. All you have to do is commute by foot, bike, carpool, vanpool, bus or work from home. The more you log – the more you win!

daily prizes
Every weekday in October, gift certificates will be awarded at random to commuters using sustainable transportation and logging their trip.
weekly $100 prizes
- Try something new: If you’ve never tried alternative transportation, go by foot, bike, carpool, vanpool or bus in October. When you register, you’ll be asked whether you’re a “new user.” Then, log your trip at www.rideshare.org to be automatically entered to win $100 every week you log.
- Keep doing what you do: If you currently use alternative transportation, log your trip at www.rideshare.org to be automatically entered to win $100 every week you log.
- Get friends and co-works to do it too: Tell others about the Commute for Cash Challenge. When people register, they’ll be asked how they heard about it. Have them type in your name and be entered to win $100 every week they log a trip by alternative transportation.
grand prize
On Monday, November 1st, the Grand Prize will be randomly awarded and announced. Every time you log a trip at www.rideshare.org, you will be entered to win the Grand Prize – the more you log the better chances you have to win! The Grand Prize is a personalized Wine Tasting Tour on the Cambria Trolley for 20 people that includes:
• Pick-up at 11:00 am by the Cambria Trolley from your home in SLO County
• First tasting: Harmony Cellars
• Lunch in Historic San Simeon, catered by Sebastian’s Café and featuring Hearst Ranch Grass Fed Beef
• Tasting at the Hearst Ranch Winery’s Tasting Room
• Optional time in beautiful old San Simeon village or Hearst Castle

kick-Off
The Commute for Cash Challenge is kicking off on Thursday, September 30th at Farmers Market in San Luis Obispo. Join us on Broad Street to register for the challenge, learn how to win $100, listen to live music, paint a SLO Transit bus, demo a vanpool, test “drive” various bicycles specifically for commuters and get your questions answered by transportation professionals.
ride the bus week: october 4th-8th
Ride the any bus in the county for free by registering for the challenge and printing your My iRideShare Homepage (picture below) – what do you have to lose? Plan your bus trip online and log your trip to win.
vanpool week: october 11th-15th
Commuters are invited to demo a vanpool at the Commuter for Cash Challenge Luncheons in September. In addition, vanpools formed in October will receive a $200 off their first month.
carpool week: october 18th-22nd
Carpooling is the easiest way to cut commute costs and pollution. All you need is ONE other person to have a carpool. During Carpool Week, Rideshare is saying “THANK YOU” to carpoolers by filling their gas tank. Every weekday during Carpool Week, Rideshare will spend $100 at random gas stations in San Luis Obispo County filling up the gas tanks of carpoolers. We only have $100 to fill up as many carpoolers tanks as possible, so don't press the snooze. Go to our blog or our Facebook page to get the latest on where we'll be.
Free gas is given away between 7am-8:30am

ride your bike and walk week: october 27th-30th
Every weekday during Ride Your Bike and Walk Week, Rideshare will be filling up bicycle commuters and walkers “gas tanks” with Bike Breakfasts and Energizer Stations. All you have to do is show up by foot or bike and fuel up with coffee and breakfast. Visit our Calendar or check our blog, Facebook or Twitter page to learn more about free breakfast, free bike tune-ups and discounts on bike accessories.
