get my school walking and rolling
Rideshare was awarded a Federal Safe Routes to School Grant and can offer staff support and resources to get your school walking & rolling. We offer program planning assistance, parent information sessions, a Safe Routes to School Start-up Kit, financial support, events and activities, safety information and materials such as flyers, posters and incentives.
program planning assistance
Sometimes it is hard to know where to start, but Rideshare is here to help. We will work with you to devise a program and plan that’s specific to your school. Your unique plan could include:
- A program timeline
- Team building
- Development of outreach materials
- Creation of educational materials
- Incentive activities and programs
parent information sessions
Some say it takes a village to raise a child; in the case of Safe Routes to School, it takes a group of dedicated and educated parents to make Safe Routes to School a success. We will teach parents the importance of walking and biking to school, the best ways to encourage kids to participate and provide helpful information for drivers, because more often than not they are the biggest danger to kids walking and biking. Parent sessions can be adjusted to fit the needs of your school, whether you are looking to get more people on board with planning or just fill them in on the safest ways to get around.
