Q: When is Rideshare Month?
A: Rideshare Month – Commute for Cash begins October 1st and runs thru October 28th. You can sign up online at www.rideshare.org anytime during this period for a chance to win prizes.

- Click the link online at www.rideshare.org
- Complete the registration.
- Log into your account and go to Log My Commute.
Q: Are there rules to Rideshare Month – Commute for Cash?
A: Yes – here is what you need to know:
- Qualifying modes of alternative transportation for Rideshare Month – Commute for Cash are: BUS, BIKE, WALK, CARPOOL, VANPOOL or TELECOMMUTE.
- To be eligible for a daily prize, participants must log at least one commute trip using an eligible MODE OF TRANSPORTATION into their online calendar that day.
- To be eligible for a weekly $100 prize, participants must log at least one commute trip using an eligible MODE OF TRANSPORTATION into their online calendar that week.
- To be eligible for the Grand Prize, participants must log an eligible MODE OF TRANSPORTATION into their online calendar every working day during the month of October.
- A New User, or someone trying something new, is someone who drives alone most of the time (uses sustainable transportation less than twice per month).
- A Current User, or someone doing what they do, is someone who is not considered a New User.
- To be eligible to win $100 as someone getting others to do it too, you must be a registered participant and be referred by another user. If registered users do not provide enough information to determine the source of their referral, that referral will be disqualified.
Q: How do I win?
A: There are a lot of ways to win in October. All you have to do is commute by foot, bike, carpool, vanpool, bus or work from home. Gift certificates will be given daily, three prizes of $100 cash will be given weekly and a Grand Prize will be awarded at the end of the month. The more you log at www.rideshare.org – the more chances you have to win!
Q: Who wins prizes?
A: Every weekday in October, gift certificates will be awarded at random to commuters using sustainable transportation and logging their trip at www.rideshare.org. Prizes for trips logged on Fridays will be awarded the following Monday. Weekly $100 prizes are also awarded each Friday in October when you:
- Try something new: If you’ve never tried sustainable transportation, go by foot, bike, carpool, vanpool, or bus in October. Then, log your trip at www.rideshare.org to be automatically entered to win $100 every week you record a trip.
- Keep doing what you do: If you currently use sustainable transportation, log your trip at www.rideshare.org to be automatically entered to win $100 every week you record a trip.
- Get friends and co-workers to do it too: Tell others about Rideshare Month - Commute for Cash. When people register or log in after October 1st at www.rideshare.org, they will be asked how they heard about Rideshare Month. Have them type in your name and be entered to win $100 every week they log a trip using sustainable transportation.
The more you log – the more chances you have to win! Every Friday, $100 will be given to three commuters; someone trying something new, someone doing what they do and someone getting friends and co-workers to do it too.
Q: What is the Grand Prize?
A: On Monday, October 31st, the Grand Prize will be awarded and announced. To win the Grand Prize, you must use sustainable transportation for every commute trip during October and log your trips at www.rideshare.org. The Grand Prize is a personalized Wine Tasting Tour on the Avila Trolley for 15 people that includes free tasting and lunch.
